How to style mirrors with Edge Design Consultants

Looking for a way to add depth, glamour and function to your space? Mirrors are a simple yet effective way to enhance the look of any room. But like most things in design, there are different ways you can use mirrors to style your room depending on the look and feel you are trying to achieve. Here are our top styling ideas.
Mirrors instantly add depth to your space, enhancing the size by doubling the appearance of whatever is in the room. With that said, be mindful of the size of the mirror in comparison to the rest of the room and where it is positioned. The key to using a mirror to enhance depth is to ensure it is the right size and is placed across something that is visually appealing. The mirror will reflect these details across the space, extending the line of sight and doubling the detail or even the space itself.
Increased light coverage- while a mirror adds depth and space it can also increase total light coverage to your room. Whenever possible, hang a mirror across from a window. It will significantly increase the amount of light in the room and can make the most of the view, if the view is worth having of course.
Mirrors are a great option for a wall feature, whether it’s one mirror or 3 small ones. Think about the way the mirrors can be displayed on the wall, similar to working with hanging art. If you want to inject a bit of personality into your mirror arrangement, group them together - depending on the type of mirrors you choose, it can create either a lively, dynamic effect or create a room that feels calm and composed.
Make it art- If you're not much of an art lover, a statement mirror is a great way to create a sense of artistry on your wall. If you're lucky enough to have a view or leafy outlook, a mirror can bring this into the room as a work of art in itself. If this is the aim, the larger the mirror the better.
Tip: Candles are a mirror's best friend. In any room with a mirror, a candle is pretty much a must as they reflect candlelight so beautifully. Set the mood for dinner parties with loads of candles standing before a mirror on a mantel and set up a luxurious chill-out zone in your bathroom or bedroom with candles placed either in front of or opposite mirrors.
